    Belonging is the first medicine

Living with a long-term illness can be isolating. Appointments come and go, but the harder, quieter work of everyday life happens between them — and it happens best when no one has to face it alone.

    Upstream Dream

A neighbourhood gathering brings people together around what they share.

Our social and community engagement work exists to make sure people feel accompanied, not just treated. We bring people together around what they have in common: a diagnosis, a caregiving role, a neighbourhood, or simply the wish to feel a little less alone.

Through peer support groups, community events and shared activities, we help turn strangers into a network people can lean on — support that continues long after everyone goes home.

    Join the Neighbourhood

Upstream Dream is built on the belief that health grows when we come together. Wherever you’re starting from, there’s a place for you here.

    If you’re seeking support
You don’t have to carry it all alone. Explore our neighbourhood projects, join a makerspace or connect with others who understand your journey.

    If you want to collaborate
We work with communities, healthcare, researchers, and organisations who share our vision. Let’s build solutions together that are simple, human-scale and sustainable.

If you have skills to share
Designers, clinicians, technologists, storytellers, funders — your knowledge can help shape tools and pathways that make health more accessible for everyone.
